We’ve all had our fair share of emergencies and health scares in our lifetime. Heart attacks remain the most horrifying threat of all. We know that cardiac arrests can and often prove to be deadly, but is there more to an attack?

1) Rest is vital to improve strength.
False. Anyone who has been a victim of an attack will tell you just how dangerous that is. The body needs exercise and staying still can prove to be fatal. If you find yourself recovering from an arrest, put in the work and exercise to build your body up.
2) Women don’t have to worry about heart diseases.
Inaccurate. Women are just as affected, if not more, by these life-threatening diseases. In fact, some studies even show proof of more female deaths recorded than male. It is never too late to learn how to lead a healthy life.
3) If the attack is small, you don’t have to worry.
A heart attack is a cry from the body for help. Any disease in the heart is worrisome, more so when it is an arrest. From the moment you are the recipient of one, it is pertinent that you live a healthy and proper life with a constrained diet.
4) Chest pains accompany heart attacks.
No, they don’t. While it may sound shocking to digest, it is also found to be true. Cardiac arrests don’t always come with the warning of accompanied chest pains. It is commonly said to make an appearance but it is not always the case. Sometimes only minor symptoms arise, which include nausea, high blood pressure, obesity, etc.
5) Leg pains are unrelated to heart attacks.
It is true that most leg aches are due to old age and weak bones, they can also be a sign that you aren’t paying enough attention to your heart. They could be the result of plaque build-up in the veins found in your legs, which, is a condition called peripheral artery disease. Still think you can live with the pain?
6) Increased heart rate is a sign of heart attack.
Who comes up with these ridiculous statements? Every time you work out, take a walk, exert yourself and perform some physical task, your heart rate will spike and that is completely normal. There is no correlation between an increased heart rate and a cardiac arrest. You can sleep soundly now.
Anyone can be the recipient of a heart attack. It is recommended by doctors to get a routine cardiac checkup once every six months after reaching the age of 21.
