The dead skin usually clogs up on the hair follicles which are present on the surface. This tends to force the hair inside to grown under the skin sideways instead of outward and upward. Though ingrown hair isn’t a serious issue it definitely is embarrassing and irritating.
A single raised bump or a group of bumps look similar to little pimples. They can even become painful boil-like sores and you might start feeling itchy and uncomfortable especially if you have a lot of them.
Usually, people get them on their legs, armpits or buttocks. The problem of ingrown hair is pretty common and anyone can develop them.
